US Censorship Of Russian Media Failed - Microsoft
While Silicon Valley has made efforts to suppress Russian media outlets like RT and Sputnik, they still reach more Americans than before the Ukraine conflict and rival major corporate US outlets for monthly page views, according to a Microsoft report.
The 30-page pamphlet claims Russian cyber influence operations led to an 82% increase in propaganda in the US, but claimed the tech sector’s efforts had “likely helped reduce the spread to pre-February levels”.
The assessments were based on Microsoft’s “AI For Good Lab” tool that apparently predicts which sites might be considered propaganda.
