Millions spent by retailers on ads, displays, flyers, etc. Tons of inventory, product placement, and staff. Doors opened at 6 am.
Black Friday the biggest shopping day of the year and no one is out shopping???
You can say online but last I checked people still shopped. We like to touch and actually see things.
Black Friday was once American retail’s great festival of consumption. I remember throngs of buyers competing sometimes unto violence for the chance to get the best deals at big box stores, and now, post-COVID, the aisles are empty, the workers are underwhelmed and a trickle of customers are making conventional purchases as they mosey past hundreds of signs displaying Black Friday deals for absent crowds.
So what is actually going on? Where is everyone???
